Many women seem to think that accepting the world as it is is giving up. That somehow we need to change men and the nature of predation and hierarchy and I agree to an extent... while we're doing all that we have to live in the now. And survive the now! The bigger fish has always eaten the smaller one... and that will likely always be true....
Tell your teen daughters that DRINKING TOO MUCH TOO FAST or accepting drinks from people they don't KNOW WELL turns them into an easy target for other impaired or malicious kids at parties. They can have fun without giving up their safety or decision-making skills. GENTLY explain to them that there is a happy medium between enjoying yourself and deliberately turning yourself into a VICTIM and standing out as an easy target. Her first time shouldn't be her last.
Girls should never go to parties alone. Suggest they have at least one male or female friend they can count on as a designated non-drinker to keep an eye on things, as well as drive. Safe fun is better than fun with life-long consequences. Simple, and perhaps unfair, but true.
